Included benefits
Accidental loss of or damage to your vehicle Cover includes theft, fire, flood and storm, including hail damage, subject to your policy’s terms and conditions, limits and excess.
New for old replacement of a new vehicle after a total loss  If your new vehicle is stolen or written off, Allianz may replace it with one of the same make and model if the following conditions are met: • Your vehicle is less than two years old from its first registration at the time it’s declared a total loss. • You bought your new vehicle, or demonstrator model, from the manufacturer or their dealer. • Where relevant, your financier has given their written consent. • A new replacement vehicle of the same make and model is available in Australia.
Legal liability cover Covers your legal liability for loss or damage to other people’s property and for supplementary bodily injury – up to $20 million for any one event or series of related events.
Approved legal costs from a liability claim Covers legal costs, as approved by Allianz, from a claim that’s covered by your policy.
Emergency repair costs after a covered accident Allianz will reimburse the cost of necessary emergency repairs that enable you to drive your vehicle home after a covered accident – up to $500 for any one incident.
Rental car after theft of your vehicle If your vehicle has been stolen, Allianz will pay for a rental car – $100 per day, for up to 30 days.4
Towing after a covered incident Allianz will pay the reasonable cost of protection, removal and towing of your vehicle after a covered accident to the nearest repairer, place of safety or any other place they agree to.
Temporary cover on a replacement vehicle Allianz will provide cover for your replacement vehicle for 14 days.
Trailer and caravan cover Allianz will pay up to $1,000, or the market value of your trailer or caravan, whichever is less.
Legal liability cover when using a substitute vehicle
Cover for personal items in your vehicle Allianz will pay up to $1,000 for any one incident.
Emergency accommodation costs Cover for reasonable emergency accommodation costs and travel expenses after a covered accident, provided that your vehicle was more than 100 km from where it’s usually parked at night – up to $1,000 for any one incident.
Transportation costs If your vehicle can’t be driven safely home after a covered accident, Allianz will pay up to $500 for any one incident for travel necessary to get you home.
Lock re-keying or re-coding if your vehicle’s keys are stolen Allianz will pay up to $1,000 for any one incident.
Replacing a child seat after a covered accident Cover for the replacement of a child seat or baby capsule in your vehicle at the time of a covered accident – up to $500 for any one incident.
Optional benefits
Rental car after an accident, where available If you can’t use your vehicle following an accident, this optional benefit will pay $100 per day, up to 30 days for a rental car. This option will extend your rental car or daily travel allowance period if they caused or contributed to the delay in repairing your vehicle.
Basic excess removal for windscreen claims  If the broken windscreen is the only damage to your vehicle, you can get one replacement and two repairs in any period of insurance.
Cover for tools of trade This optional benefit will pay up to $3,000 for any one incident.

What is Comprehensive Motor Insurance?

Comprehensive Motor Insurance covers your vehicle, plus damage you cause to other people’s vehicles or property. It doesn’t cover your liability to pay compensation if you cause injury to another person. Get a quote.

Is Comprehensive Motor Insurance necessary?

Comprehensive Motor Insurance isn’t mandatory in Australia but there are benefits to having it. If you choose not to take out Comprehensive Motor Insurance and you or the driver of your vehicle is at fault in an accident, you’ll be responsible for the cost of any damage to your own vehicle as well as for the damages caused to any third party property.

Did you purchase your vehicle with a loan? 
Health Professionals Bank may require you to have Comprehensive Motor Insurance if you take out a loan to purchase your vehicle.

What does Allianz Comprehensive Motor Insurance cover?

Allianz Comprehensive Motor Insurance provides cover for accidental loss or damage to your vehicle, as well as your legal liability for the damage you cause to other people’s vehicles or property. Some examples of loss or damage to your vehicle covered by this insurance include:

• Motor accidents such as a collision with another vehicle
• Theft
• Fire damage
• Storm damage
• Hail damage
• Damage while your vehicle is parked

Can I drive another vehicle with comprehensive insurance cover?

If you’re driving another person’s vehicle, you should always check their insurance policy details to confirm whether you’re covered.  You won’t be covered by your Allianz Comprehensive Motor Insurance policy when you’re driving someone else's vehicle.

Does comprehensive motor insurance include Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP)?

When you purchase Comprehensive Motor Insurance, it doesn’t include CTP. CTP, also known as a Green Slip in NSW, covers your liability and the liability of anyone else who drives your vehicle for injuries you may have caused to other road users in a motor accident. CTP doesn't provide cover for any damage you cause to other people's vehicles or property.
